For the first time, Datacenter FORUM landed in Reykjavik, on 25 October, in Gróska, and was attended by over 200 datacenter professionals. The audience was a good mix of representatives of the data center ecosystem in Iceland (operators, connectivity, suppliers, energy, etc.), representatives of government bodies, and international investors, consultants, data center suppliers, and other data center professionals.
Snerpa Power participated actively and Íris Baldursdóttir, co-founder of Snerpa Power and CEO, took part in a panel focusing on the datacenter ecosystem in Iceland, which is continuously growing stronger with access to renewable energy sources, a strong workforce and great connectivity. Discussions were moderated by Sigríður Mogensen, Samtök iðnaðarins, with valuable input from the panelists: Bjorn Brynjulfsson, Borealis Data Center, Haraldur Hallgrímsson, Landsvirkjun, Iris Baldursdottir, Snerpa Power, and Thorvardur Sveinsson, Farice.
Sustainability was a recurring theme throughout the day as a hugely important part of the datacenter business.
