Our own Data Scientist, Hörður Ingi Björnsson, delivered a presentation this year on how access to data and data streams can create value for energy-intensive industries, particularly within the electricity market. He highlighted the importance of data-driven strategies in optimizing operations and driving innovation in this critical sector. Hörður gave some examples of the unique electricity usage patterns seen within power intensive industries and some key findings from working with these data sets.
SnerpaPower is proud to be the first SME in Iceland to receive the support and services offered by EDIH-IS - the European Digital Innovation Hub in Iceland. EDIH-IS was founded in April 2023 and intended to be at the forefront of Iceland’s digital transformation, providing vital support and expertise to businesses and organizations in Iceland seeking to thrive in the digital age. SnerpaPower’s collaboration with EDIH-IS focuses specifically on areas such as data science and cybersecurity. Our collaborations with University of Iceland and Reykjavik University continue to foster growth and innovation in these fields.

The GAGNVIST 2024 conference also explored the development of Iceland’s national data policy, aimed at creating a unified vision for data-driven value creation in the country. This aligns well with our mission to support the development of a robust and secure data ecosystem in Iceland.
